Back Bay

The Neighborhood

Boston’s Back Bay is known for its lovely rows of Victorian houses, river-side walkways, fashionable shops, and delectable restaurants. Enjoy the historic charm and Paris-inspired landscape built from what use to be a true bay, and is now filled with acres of land and residential neighborhoods. Locals promote an active lifestyle and are often seen jogging along the Charles River Esplanade or indulging in pick-up games during the day. While at night, popular bars and restaurants are quick to fill up along the picturesque tree-lined streets.

There's plenty to offer within walking distance. Go exotic and try an adventurous Southeast Asian-inspired cuisine at funky Tiger Mama. Or keep it simple and grab a classic, yet delicious slice of pizza from Blaze Pizza. For shopping, check out the Prudential Center Boston shopping mall. To explore the rest of the city, hop on the T at the Hynes Convention Center station just a few blocks away.
