Lincoln Park

The Neighborhood

With its historic landmark districts, brick row houses, and tree-lined streets, Lincoln Park is as charming as Chicago gets. Sitting along Lake Michigan, this leafy North Side neighborhood is home to restaurants, boutique shops, cafes, and live music clubs, where young professionals mix with the hip college crowd from nearby DePaul University. During the day, the neighborhood’s sprawling namesake park—with its gardens, paths, museums, and beaches—provides a welcome respite from the hustle-bustle of the big city.

There's plenty to offer within walking distance. Head to Summer House Santa Monica and enjoy a delicious New American dish in a beautiful atrium. Or try Blue Door Farm Stand for a wonderful farm-to-table cuisine and a delicious cold-pressed juice. For shopping, check out 900 North Michigan Shops on the Magnificent Mile. To explore the rest of the city, grab the subway at the Fullerton station just a short walk away. The Lincoln Park neighborhood exemplifies Chicago’s motto "urbs in horto" (City in a Garden). Stunning churches and handsome brick row houses neighbor both tranquil parks and lively commercial streets which bustle and buzz with city life. Home to the famed Lincoln Park which hosts a conservatory, the 148-year old zoo, an outdoor theatre, and canoeing in its lagoon, this neighborhood is more than a sum of its parts.
