Wicker Park

The Neighborhood

So you want to do it all? Wicker Park puts endless possibilities at your fingertips. Boasting some of Chicago’s top dining spots and a thriving community of young professionals, artists, and trendy hipsters, its walkable streets and bike paths are crowded with boutique shops, hip cafes, record stores, and art galleries. A blend of bohemian energy, craft cocktail bars, and performance venues makes it one of the most popular nightlife destinations in the city, while the Bloomingdale Trail, a 2.7-mile elevated park and greenway created on a former Chicago railroad line and part of The 606 network, offers runners and bikers a welcome respite from the bustling street scene below.

There's plenty to offer within walking distance. For some delicious Mexican street food and a margarita, try Big Star. Or head to Forbidden Root Restaurant & Brewery for a creative gastropub plate. For shopping, check out The Shops at North Bridge shopping mall. To explore the rest of the city, head to the Milwaukee & Damen station just a short walk away.
