Bucktown

The Neighborhood

Although it has shifted to hip urban life from a once Bohemian enclave, Bucktown and neighboring Wicker Park still maintain a small-town feel. The tree-lined streets host some of Chicago’s best annual art festivals and are home to dozens of galleries. The art of cuisine follows suit in this creative epicenter with craft cocktails and nouveau restaurants that seamlessly infuse fresh twists into old-school classics. Take a stroll down Damen Avenue and pop into one of the many vintage boutiques for some fashionable finds. Originally named Bucktown for the goats that were common here, this area has blossomed into one of Chicago’s trendiest neighborhoods.

There's plenty to offer within walking distance. Wake up with the sun and head to Mindy's HotChocolate for a hot chocolate and a breakfast pastry. For dinner, head to the 1980s-inspired restaurant The Stop Along, and play an arcade game while you wait for a slice of their delicious pizza. For shopping, check out The Shops at North Bridge. To explore the rest of the city, grab the bus at the Damen Blue Line station just a few blocks away.
