Mountain View

The Neighborhood

Enclosed by incredible views of the Santa Cruz Mountains and rubbing elbows with neighboring Silicon Valley, Mountain View is not only a a scenic sight for sore eyes, but a technological mecca as well. Google may have planted their headquarters here back in ‘04, but with the pedestrian-friendly streets begging you to explore something new, you don’t need a search engine to find a great experience. Should your interests lie more into outer-space than webspace, The Nasa Ames Visitor Center offers a shuttle simulator ride that will have you believing you are rocketing out of this world. For more down-to-earth transportation, utilize the nearby Caltrain station to get yourself over to Castro Street, a downtown hotspot where the diverse selection of restaurants and evening entertainment will keep you going all night long.

There's plenty to offer within walking distance. Try out Eureka! for local brews and gourmet burgers, or Gochi Japanese Fusion Tapas for an authentic atmosphere and delicious small plates. There's also a Whole Foods and Target just down the street if you'd rather cook in your Sonder. For shopping, head to Blossom Valley or The The Village at San Antonio Center. To explore the rest of the city, the Mountain View Station is a 9-minute drive away.
