Casa Tonalá

Roma, Ciudad de México

This century-old property echoes the neo-classical style of the Roma neighborhood. Arched windows. Detailed stonework. Steps away from every element of an authentic experience of CDMX. Inside each charming space, the original tile flooring is complemented by thoughtful contemporary design. Beyond the gates of this historical gem, the colorful streets await. Ramble through the fresh fruit and flower markets nearby, or sample the delightful gastro treats of Avenida Álvaro Obregón. To round out the evening, unwind and refresh with an ice-cold drink at a leafy terrace bar. Back at your space, keep it cool and peaceful with the portable fan and earplugs we've provided.

The neighborhood

Roma

As we like to say in Mexico, the Roma neighborhood is the official Barrio Mágico. Translated to English, it means “Magical Area,” and it sure delivers on that title. The spirit of this area spills from its independent cafes and boutiques onto its colorful streets. Enticing locals and visitors, a dynamic crowd ambles between markets, parks, and an authentic array of bustling bars. It's the home to a burgeoning gastronomical scene that emanates from Avenida Álvaro Obregón. Quality eateries, with equally stunning offerings and designs, rival those of the more affluent neighborhoods in the city.
