Things to Know

This newly re-designed Sonder does not currently have black-out curtains installed in all rooms but there are vertical blinds.

This Sonder is a 2nd floor walk-up with stair access only, and no elevator.

This building does not allow children under the age of 18 to stay on premises, but we have additional spaces all over San Diego that are family friendly!

Noise alert: this building promotes social events in the bar downstairs. We do not recommend booking this Sonder unless you are comfortable with a high volume of noise lasting late into the night.

House Rules

There are a few simple rules. No smoking, no parties or events, and no pets. To be respectful of our neighbors, please keep noise down after 9pm.

The Neighborhood

Proudly flying a rainbow flag, Hillcrest is the cultural home of San Diego's lively LGBT community. Towering proudly over Hillcrest’s main intersection, a giant rainbow flag marks the starting point for San Diego’s annual Pride’s mile-long parade. This friendly, walkable neighborhood offers an array of mouth-watering restaurants, acclaimed wine bars, and farmer's markets that serve as year-round enjoyment for those of us looking to toss out the rule book and live as if everyday was a vacation. Throw on your walking shoes and head on out to Hash House A Go Go, where their “market-fresh” menu and signature Bloody Mary’s will have you believing happy hour is more of an all-day thing. Repeat to yourself, “Calories don’t count on vacation” as you will happily and inevitably fall victim to their larger-than-life proportions. As fresh and fabulous as the neighborhood itself, the city’s largest farmer’s market provides an abundance of not only organic produce, but friendly conversations and one-of-a-kind crafts as well. Constantly buzzing with activity, Hillcrest awaits to welcome any and everyone.

There's plenty to offer within walking distance. Try out TRUST Restaurant or Khyber Pass Restaurant for some of San Diego's best dining. For shopping, check out Hillcrest Market. To explore the rest of the city, head to the University Ave. & Normal St. bus station.
