How do I request an Early Check-In or Late Check-Out?

Our standard check-in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 11 a.m. 

All available early check-in and late check-out time slots are exclusively viewed and booked via self-serve on the Sonder app or the My Stays page of our website. Most of our available slots come at an additional cost that varies based on time. Contacting a representative will not lead to additional time slots as they see what you see, therefore it is recommended not to reach out to a representative for this purpose.

You may also adjust your arrival time if you expect to arrive at your Sonder past the standard 4 p.m. check-in time or plan to leave your Sonder earlier than the required 11 a.m. check-out time.

Steps to process a request

Sonder app:

  1. Download the Sonder app.
  2. Log in to your Sonder account or use the "Find my reservation" tool.
  3. Navigate to the “Stays” tab.
  4. Select your current/upcoming reservation if multiple reservations exist.
  5. Select the “Edit check-in time” or “Edit check-out time” button.
  6. Select the desired time, if available.
  7. Complete the required payment, if required, to confirm your new check-in/out time.

  1. Head to your profile.
  2. Navigate to your current/upcoming stay.
  3. Under "Reservation Confirmed. You're all set!" select “Manage Reservation...” 
  4. Select “Edit check-in time” or “Edit check-out time.”
  5. Select the desired time, if available.
  6. Complete the required payment, if required, to confirm your new check-in/out time.

If there aren’t any open time slots, check out these alternative options in the Sonder app:

  • Explore luggage storage options.
  • Check out a local café while you wait for your Sonder to become available.
  • Extend your stay a night so you're guaranteed early check-in or late check-out.
