How do you choose the Sonder properties?
We hand-select properties based on their fit with the overall Sonder
portfolio — unique, attractive, secure, comfortable, and well-located.
When I stay in a Sonder, am I staying in someone else’s home?
It depends. Some Sonders we rent ourselves for their character,
location, and charm. Other Sonders are the owner’s secondary home
that is typically vacant most of the year. Either way, we always
make sure that the location meets our 237-point checklist of brand
compliance and comfort before we open its doors to travelers.
How do I make a booking directly with Sonder?
You can browse our homes by city and filter for your exact needs.
When you are ready to book, simply make your reservation online and
it is instantly confirmed. If you have specific needs or want some
help choosing a neighborhood, give our concierge team a call at

Is my booking confirmed right away?
All of our bookings are instantly confirmed. You can expect a
confirmation within a few hours and if you have any questions, our
concierge team is available to assist, 24/7.
What is your pre-check-in process?
We want to make your arrival experience as seamless as possible and
in order to do so, we need to get some paperwork completed before
you arrive, including collecting a picture of a government issued id
and, yes, a selfie. We do this to verify identity and ensure the
safety of our guests in all of our homes.
Can I book last minute?
Yes! For last-minute bookings, please give us a call. This way,
we’ll be able to tell you exactly which Sonders are available in
When will I be charged?
Your credit card will be charged for the entire stay, including tax
and cleaning, at time of purchase.
What is your cancellation policy?

What if I have a special request like an air mattress or a crib?
We have air mattresses and cribs available for rental, $40 per stay.
If you have other special requests, please contact our concierge
team and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Depending on the
item, additional charges may apply.
Is there anything I’m not allowed to do in my Sonder?
Yes, we have 2 simple rules - no smoking and no parties. We love when
guests bring their pets, but not all of our locations allow it.
Please check with the Sonder team prior to booking if you plan on
bringing your furry friends along.
During your stay
Will someone meet me at my Sonder?
In most cases, we will send you instructions on how to enter your
Sonder 24 to 72 hours prior to your arrival, including a secure
access code and key location. We can’t predict traffic or delays;
this way you can arrive in your own time. If you have any issues at
time of arrival, we’re on standby 24/7 to assist.
What time is check-in and check-out?
You can check in to your place anytime after 4 pm. Check out is at
11 am. If there are no other guests checking in to your Sonder, it
may be possible to check in earlier, but we won’t be able to confirm
that until 24 hours before your reservation starts.
What comes in my Sonder?
Every Sonder is complete with:

What services do you provide for guests?
Our concierge team is available 24/7 to help you choose and book a
home for your stay, make local recommendations and to handle any
special requests or issues you may have with your Sonder.
What services does Sonder offer for my short term rental?
We’ll take care of everything for you: reservations, marketing,
distribution to over 20 rental sites, guest communication,
on-the-ground operations, maintenance, and housekeeping. We make the
entire process hands-off for our partners.
What happens when I want to use my home?
Just let us know. With advance notice we will reserve your home and
ensure that there are no other competing bookings. Your home will be
clean and ready to go as if you were one of our guests.
How does Sonder help me earn more from my rental?
Our Data Science team of PhDs and rocket scientists (literally)
takes into account neighborhood data, availability of other
locations in your area, holidays or events, and much, much more.

How much do Sonder Partner Services cost?
We take a management fee from every Sonder booking. However, because
of our pricing and distribution, Sonder homes are able to earn
higher revenues than if listed on other channels. Therefore, most of
our partners increase their return on investment, even with the
Sonder management fee.
How can I be sure my home is safe?
Each renter must present a government-issued photo ID and credit
card before they’re granted access to the property. We have multiple
levels of screening, including employing machine learning to combat
fraud. We take security deposits to ensure that all parties are
sufficiently protected, and each location is guaranteed by an
extensive short-term rental insurance policy through Lloyd’s of
